About

Nature is the most beautiful thing in the world. Inspiration comes from being outside and exploring new places. Weather creates movement and colors that change every minute. The Sun and water work together to invent stunning sights to make into art.

I am a 34 year old artist living on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. I get inspiration to paint and draw from the mountains, the ocean, and the forest that I live in. I love to explore new places and study the different vegetation colors and light.

My process has always been to draw or paint whatever inspires me. Usually it starts with taking pictures while on a hike, or a walk along the beach. All of my drawings are of mountains that I have climbed. All of my recent paintings are color studies of flowers, most from a recent one-month trip to the Monterey peninsula in central California.

I paint on cotton stretched canvas with acrylics, followed by high-gloss varnish. I prefer larger canvases to work on (16x20” and larger). Some paintings I finish in one day, regardless of the large size. I’m able to add layers of paint throughout the day, here and there, while taking care of my two toddlers at home. Light to medium wood floating frames finish the work of art.

My drawings are small and done with pencil, ink, and colored pencil. I love to draw trees and plants, so I search for a mountain view with vegetation in the foreground while I am hiking.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from the University of New Hampshire in 2011. I won my first art contest in Kindergarten in 1994 on Cape Cod. I participated in The Cape Cod Museum of Art’s artist mentor program in 2007 and was selected to have my chalk pastel work displayed in the Massachusetts State House in Boston. Since graduating in 2011, I have sold over 300 pieces and items to people all over the country, mostly within the past 5 years.
